Nissan Repair: nissan xterra codes, nissan xterra 2002, nissan xterra

i got two codes i was wondering what would be a good way to fix them thank you. the codes are po300 and po442 nissan xterra 2002 and it has been burning alot if oil.

Here are the codes defined:

PO300 - Cylinder misfire
PO442 - EEC (Evaporative Emission Control)leak

Is the engine missing? If not, then the 300 code may be an old one. Try resetting the ECU and see if any codes return. I hear Autozone will check or reset codes for free.

The EEC may be a vacuum leak. Again, if the engine is not running rough, it may be a past code.

The oil leak may be a separate issue. Do you see oil drops on the ground? When you start the car first thing in the AM, does blue smoke come out of the exhaust?
