Nissan Repair: Dash gauges not working, step down transformer, crash damage
Question
before repairs!
Thanks for your reply, and apologies for not having answered before now: only just had the time to pull the cluster. Anyway, I discovered that a tiny component on the PCB appears to have exploded, so I guess that is it...have to find another. Sadly, not had any success in the scrapyards here in Spain; they don't keep cars very long before crushing them, and rarely remove parts before doing so. Any ideas on where to get one? I guess shipping will be expensive too. It only has 45,000 kms on it!! In beautiful condition, and now that I have repaired all the crash damage, it looks like new...grrrrr....
Thanks again for your time!
Nick
AnswerNick,
Wow! I am glad you have the car back together and running. I am pretty sure the component on the back of the cluster is a step down transformer for the electronics. Check this link out to source a cluster. Also, you would not think ebay would be a good source but I find stuff there quite often.
