Nissan Repair: transmission, bad pollution, transmission shop

trans goes to fail safe after fist shift wont down shift to first unless you restart car wont go to o/d tranny and computor have been changed and still have same problem code shows number one   shift selinoid    also have some bad pollution sensors dont know if this could be causing trans problem   car was fine until i took out of o/d in snow and slush   mech said he found two wires on top of trans may  have been shorted together when he pulled out orig trans.  also shouldnt a tranny guy have a pretty good idea what problem is with out ripping trans apart   thanks mike

Sounds like a different transmission shop is in order.  A shop that has a Nissan scanner for transmissions will be a benefit to read codes.  If the original transmission guy says number 1 solenoid then I would start from there.  Probably nothing you did but just an old transmission.   Now if wires were shorted you might be looking at making sure nothing is touching and the grounds are in place.
