Nissan Repair: remote key wont work, nissan patrol, internal battery

Hi

i got a nissan patrol 97, the remote key control suddenly failed to open / close the doors
as the battery was due for a change ,i installed a new one but still the problem persisted.took the vehicle to the mechanic  and after inspection he said all the door actuator arms needs replacement.
could such a problem happen overnight.
what would hae caused this failure ?

Hi Salman -

I would first check the remote (FOB). Take it to the dealer and see if it has lost its memory, or perhaps the internal battery is low. If the FOB has been exposed to a strong magnet, that could also cause failure.

I don't think anything is wrong with the actuators.
