What would cause the two remotes i have for my car to stop working simultaneously in a 1999 nissian almera

Check the door lock and see if it works to automatically lock and unlock the doors.  Replace the battery on one of the remotes with a CR2025 battery.  If it still does not work it either needs reprogrammed or the body control module has failed.
