Nissan Repair: Replacing an engine in a 1992 Nissan 240SX, nissan 240 sx, nissan 240sx

My dream project car has always been a Nissan 240 SX, I found a 1992 that is black and in good shape, and worth spending money on, but there's 400k+ on the engine!!! How much would it be roughly to replace the engine? Or how much would it cost to put in a really good engine in place of the one already there?

About $2500 bucks for a used engine from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).  About $5000 if you wanted to build your own and put some performance products on it like a header and cam.  The following is a link to the JDM supplier.  This is just one and there are many on the internet to choose from.  You are looking at $500 for labor to install.  You picked a good car as I have always liked the 240.
