Nissan Repair: 2002 Maxima, nissan maxima, blower motor

My son has a 2002 Nissan Maxima and the blower motor on the HVAC system sometimes does not work.  The problem always occurs when the vehicle is first started. Could this be caused by a dead spot on the  winding of the blower motor?

Hi Arthur -

yes, you are correct for the most part. A lot of times the brushes get worn, or there is carbon build up, and the motor will not connect. Try tapping the motor housing and see if that improves the performance. If not, replace the motor.

If it always works only on high speed, replace the resistor.
