My serpentine belt broke, now that I have put a new one on it will not turn over.  It will act like it is trying to start, but will not turn over.

Hi Jim -

Did the belt break while the engine was running?

If so, I would check all wiring near the belt path. Perhaps the belt sheared off an ignition wire when it broke.

Aside from that, and assuming the belt was installed properly, we can go through a no-start diagnosis. get back to me if you cannot find any problem with the wires. I will walk you through a no-start procedure.
