HI   I  HAVE A  97 NISSAN ALTAMA  WITH A 2.4  ...  COULD  YOU  TEEL  ME  WHERE THE KNOCK SENSOR IS LOCATED ..  THANK YOU  BOB

The knock sensor is located just under the intake manifold, near the oil filter. From under car, if you look up at the oil filter, the knock sensor is to the left of the filter. Remvoe the fuel rail to gain access and then unscrew the sensor and get under the car and remove it.  A pain in the butt for sure.  It takes about an hour.  rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com are good sources for parts.
