Nissan Repair: Stuck Gear, nissan altima, flat screwdriver

My '94 Nissan Altima gear shift gets stuck (locked) when I try to put car into gear,ie reverse,drive.

Either the solenoid in the shifter has started to fail or the brake switch that allows you to shift from park is going out.  For the time being you could remove the tab and instert a flat screwdriver into the hole to get the car out of park.
