Nissan Repair: 1999 nissan maxima, nissan maxima, car wont start

i just bought 1999 nissan maxima, the car wont start. U would hear the engine try to run but it wont.I checked the starter and it didnt look good so i cahnged it , after that i was able to run the engine twice but it would turn off right away so i checked if the fuel comes out of the fuel filter going to the engine and it does. iam thinking now it might be coil,or spark plugs what do u think and thanks for ur time.

The 1999/2000 Maxima had coil problems.  Also, if the plugs have not been replaced it would be a good time to do so.  These could well be your problem.  Now, you need to check for codes before you purchase parts.  Harbor Freight sells a scanner for $65 bucks and some parts stores rent them if you cannot get the car to them.  For the parts I like rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com to save money.  They ae about half of dealer price.  Or, your local parts store.
