Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima Check Engine Light -P1126, coolant system, auto part store

Hi, I had the car plugged into a auto part store computer thing to see why my check engine light is on and why I failed my emissions testing.  The code it came back with was P1126.  What is the problem exactly? or what do you recommend I do with the thruster thing or what have you? Please Help Me!!

Hi Amber -

P1126 os labeled as "thermostat function". I would change the thermostat and flush the engine's coolant system. Please find a reputable mechanic that will not rip you off. It should be in the neighborhood of $100.
