Nissan Repair: Wont come out of park, nissan maxima, shift lock

My 89 nissan maxima just started not coming out of park and I checked all the fluids and thats fine, what am I missing?

There is an interlock to keep it in park unless the brake pedal is pressed.  If it is not unlocking there is a tab you can press in to get the car out of park.  You will see a tab you have to remove to get to the button.  Use a thin screwdriver to get it pressed.  You will need to replace the brake pedal switch or the solenoid on the shift lock to correct the problem.  It is a safety feature to keep the car from coming out of park unless the brake is pressed and the key is on...
