Nissan Repair: Timing Chain on 2006 Pathfinder, mechanic work, static compression
QuestionI just recently had the timing chain replaced and now the engine seems to be making a noise on the valves/lifters area. Does the mechanic work mess with these when replacing timing chain
AnswerLuz,
If the timing chain is replaced they set the cams and that effects the valve timing. I would have a static compression check performed as well as the timing checked to make sure the timing is correct. By this I mean the mechanical timing. If the cams are off a tooth the valve train would make noise. Also, check the oil pressure.
