The air bag light keeps flashing intermittently, is there a simple solution/fix for this?

No, the air bag light needs to be checked by the dealer or a good shop that has the right computer.  Nissan had some problems with their airbag systems in the early 2000 cars and I am sure you have a specific code for an airbag that is messing up.  Have the code read and they will let you know which airbag is screwing up...
