Nissan Repair: getting a 2000 altima started without the key, altima gxe, override switch

Question
I am buying a 2000 altima gxe with a bad transmission to use for parts for my 2001 altima gxe. The seller cant find the key to start the engine so I can put it in nuetral to tow it home. Is there a way i can either start the car without the key or get it to go into nuetral so I can tow the vehicle home behind my truck.

Since it has a bad transmission you could tow it with all four wheels on the ground.  I would use a tow dolly.  Anyway, to get it out of park pull the plug on the shifter and insert a screwdriver and push in until the shifter will come out of park.  This is an override switch that bypasses the solenoid.
