Nissan Repair: a/c belt, center bolt, belt tensioner

trying to put the belt on for the a/c is there an adjustment to loosen because the belt that the auto part says is too small

Lengths vary by manufacturer.  If you have loosened the belt tensioner.  That is the one that has the center bolt and the long bolt for adjustment all the way and the belt is too short go up to the next size.  If the parts person cannot figure it out go to another store.
