Nissan Repair: 86 nisssan 300zx non turbo, reverse gears, clutch slave

It is difficult to shift into reverse.  Gears grind, very noisy. What would cause this problem?

Reverse is a square cut gear that is not syncronized.  If it grinds when it goes into revese it probably means that the clutch is not releasing.  I would check to see if the clutch slave or master is leaking and not letting the clutch to fully disengage.
