Nissan Repair: ABS Actuator Leaking 1994 Maxima GXE, hi amy, splash shield

Hi Calvin:

I've detected a pretty mean leak from the Actuator.  The brake fluid is not coming out of the brake line --> to actuator connectors, but somewhere halfway down.  The actuator itself is wet halfway down trickling down onto the splash shield and drips onto the ground.  I have no braking power and had to use the emergency brake so as not to crash when it failed.  Fluid level went very low and ! warning light came on.  Replaced lost fluid immediately.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Amy -

Are you saying that the leak is from the actuator? If I am notmistaken, there are 4 lines going in at the top and 2 at the side? Is it leaking from the circular part of the actuator?

If so, replacement of the actuator and bleeding of the brakes should do the trick.
