Nissan Repair: Cigar lighter not working, cigar lighter, nissan altima

I have a 98 nissan altima and when i tried to plug in my ipod into the cigar plug and it was not working.  Also i tried to plug in the cigar lighter and it did not light up at all. What could be causing this problem???

Hi Maria -

Looks like you blew a fuse. Check, below the drivers side dash, there is a box with a plastic cover. This is your fuse box. Find the fuse for the lighter (use the diagram on the cover) and remove and replace. Sometimes there is a tool to remove it. It simply plugs in.
