Nissan Repair: 1992 Maxima Brake and Signal Lights not working, signal lights, fuse

What could be causing the brake lights not to work, if at first all light bulds work, signal, rear lights, flasher. I changed the fuse, then tried a tester, which then caused the signal lights not to work.

And, what kind of tester did you use?

Do you have voltage going to the sockets of the lights?
