Nissan Repair: rear brake caliper replacement time frame, rear brake caliper, nissan maxima
QuestionHi, I have a 99 Nissan Maxima and 4 years ago I had the left rear brake caliper replaced, pads replaced, and rotors were machined. It has only been 4 years and now they are saying once again, the left rear side has a falty caliper and needs replacing. The right side has never had any work. Is this common, after only 4 years to replace it again, I feel I should hold them partly responsible. Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Marcel
AnswerMarcel,
For some reason the rear brake hangs up causing the damage you describe. Yes, it has only been four years and it has happened again. I know it sounds crazy but, if it were me I would have the brakes done again since it is probably true... I do the brakes on my Maxima every two years for the same reason and it always the back that screw up.
