Nissan Repair: Nissan 1991 2.7 Diesel Automatic transmission fluid, automatic transmission fluid, automatic gearbox
QuestionHi
I have a Nissan 2.7 Diesel Engine with Automatic gearbox in an ex London taxi I drive as a private car.
I can't seem to find much information for maintenance and repair.
Please can you tell me what transmission fluid I should use in the automatic gearbox (been leaking from pan nuts) and the fluid capacity
Many thanks
Patrick
AnswerPatrick,
Nissan J Matic fluid is recommended from your local Nissan shop. Capacity, if you were to change it is about four quarts. But, if it is just low add a pint at a time until the stick indicates full hot. Check the fluid with the engine at operating temperature, on a flat level surface, in park. Add fluid until it reaches full on the hot mark on the dip stick.
