I have a overheating problem with my L reg Serena. I have changed the thermostat but cannot get any flow through the radiator/heater matrix, front or rear. any idea's

You could have a plugged up radiator or the water pump impeller is spinning free on the water pump shaft.  Remove the radiator and check for blockage and if it is clear remove the water pump and do the same.  It is just a matter of getting the garden hose and backflushing to see if there is a blockage or if the pump is defective.
