Nissan Repair: air and idle problems, mass airflow sensor, nissan sentra

2001  NISSAN SENTRA -ISSUE WITH  IDLE -I CLEAN THE THOTTLE BODY AND THE IAC THE PCV VAVLE IS ALLRIGHT  HOWEVER.WHEN I TAKE THE MAF  TUBE OFF THE ONE THAT HOOKS TO THE THOTTLE BOBY THE CAR WILL CRANK AND THE IDLE LEVELS OUT.HOWEVER WHEN I HOOK THE MAF TUBE CONNECTION BACK UP TO THE THOTTLE BODY- THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK AND WILL  NOT IDLE ITS DROPS AND THE CAR CUTS OFF AND SHAKES.ITS MY SONS CAR  SOMEONE HELP PLESASE  URGENT  THANKS

Sounds like the mass airflow sensor is blown.  Check for trouble codes.  Autozone will read them for free is you do not have a scanner.  Another option is getting a volt ohm meter and a Haynes Manual and ohm the connector on the mass airflow sensor.  This car is known to blow them.
