Nissan Repair: controlled fuel and air metering, nissan altima, negative cable

a check engine light came on,so i took my 1998 nissan altima for a DIAGNOSTIC,IT CAME OUT WITH A CODE P1105 WICH THEY SAID IT WAS THE MASTER AIR FLOW AND IT WILL COST ME $600.00 DOLLARS JUST FOR PARTS AND $30.00LABOR.DO THESE PRICES SOUND RIGHT TO YOU?

If you are talking a Sentra it is about right.  Slightly less for other models.  For some reason the Sentra costs more...  If you can wait to order it on-line rockauto.com could save you money and it is a really easy item to install.  Basically, you remove the old one and replace it with the new one.  But, disconnect the battery at the negative cable first...  rockauto.com's price for a 1999 Sentra is only 227.00
