Nissan Repair: 97 nissan pickup electrical quirk, courtesynissan, nissan pickup

When my (head)lights are off if i press the brakes the console lights and my parking lights go on, with  the (head)lights on all of my brake lights stay on while driving.I took it to nissan 4 years ago w/ the same problem and it cost like 400 to fix- my truck has 175000 mi+

Replace the headlight switch.  The current is backfeeding through the circuits as the contacts are worn out.  Under $100 bucks from rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com and all you need is a phillips to change the switch.  Remove the steering weel column cover and remove and replace the switch.
