Nissan Repair: Nissan truck rear wheel studs, stud extractors, wheel studs
QuestionHow do you replace the rear wheel studs on a Nissan truck?
AnswerDoug,
You will need to get a stud extractor. In the old days you could drive it out with a chisel but that would damage the bearings. Now, you could remove the axle and use a press. But, now they sell really cool clamp on stud extractors. To drive the new one in lubricate it with WD40 or the like and get several washers and a sacrificial nut to suck the new one in. Then use a new lug nut when you put the wheel back on.
