QuestionHi ,i have a 1987 nissan pulsar 1.6 ,picked up a new bosch alt. off a 1989 pulsar 1.8.
When i installed it and hooked up the battery it sparked and then a jumper wire [fuse]? on the side fender began smoking.
I notice that the original alt has a condensor on the back of the alt while the bosch one doesnt
Neither alt. have insulater rings where you bolt the wire to the rear of the alt.
Can you please tell me what may be wrong?
Thank you
AnswerI found this, but I believe you actually have a bad alternator or an alternator mismatch that your trying to install.
