Nissan Repair: 93 Maxima Spark Plugs, bosch platinum, heavy rain
QuestionHi, I am having a real bad headache with my maxima 1993 (I think it's a GXE, it have 4DSC stickers on the back). About a week ago my car stop running under heavy rain. I went to mechanic and he said I need to do complete tune up. I try to change spark plugs (bought Bosch Platinum twice), the car shook (like missing) when it on D or R but not in P (getting worse in a stop sign, seems like almost went dead). Just bought NGK R which I've been told it's a OEM spark plug and it still doing it. It was fine before I changed spark plugs. Do you have any idea what is wrong? should i buy cable wire as well. By the way the car already have slighlty defected fuel injector no 2 and 4.
AnswerDam,
I would check the wires and probably replace them and the cap along with the plugs. If you did not crack a plug on install, quite common with the head design. I would also, get some injectors and replace those you say are defective. Injectors will really mess things up if they short out or lean or over richen the mixture. I personally have had bad luck with Bosch plugs and do not use them. Just my opinion on my experience with them. I love Autolite, NGK and Nippondenso. I have not had problems with these.
