Nissan Repair: pathfinder transmission, transmission shop, trans fluid

I have a 86 pathfinder automatic.  It is leaking some trans fluid.  When I put it in gear the engine dies.  Any idea of what might be the problem?  Thank you.  Leslie.

Hi Leslie,

Sounds like a bad lock up solenoid. Take your truck down to a transmission shop and they can replace it for you for under $200. This should cause a check engine light also. If it's not the solenoid, it could mean a bad converter which would be substancially more. Fix the leak!
