Nissan Repair: 1995 nissan altima wont start, just got new starter battery is fine, nissan altima, neutral safety switch
QuestionMy 1995 nissan altima will not start, I just put a new starter in, and my battery is fine, machanic did the work and she started fine when I picked her up but sitting at home over night now won't start.
What do you think we missed
AnswerCasey,
If the starter is new and you have a charged battery I would look at the safety interlock switch. If you have an automatic the neutral safety switch could be bad and if it is a manual the clutch switch could be bad. Wire around either to verify and replace if necessary. Way too common a problem these days. Remember that the car is over ten years old.
