Nissan Repair: 1986 Nissan Maxima thumping ,no fan movement, nissan maxima, digital dash

My 86 maxima's fans stopped  moving and there is a thumping sound in the area of the water pump.  I don't know if it's a belt, the pump,or a circuit.  The digital dash is not working , how to check to see what it is.  I know a a good deal about basic auto repair ,have done my share,need some input on this though.  Thanks

Open the hood and see if the belt is missing.  There is sticker under the hood with the belts and their locations.  Check for the alternator belt being gone as this could cause both problems.  On the instruments it is probably either the connector being dirty or the cluster needs repair.  Email me back and let me know if anything on the digital dash functions.
