Nissan Repair: 1996 pickup starting problems, electrical system, starters
QuestionI have a 1996 truck (2.4L manual trans), with 150,000 miles. The problem is
that when it gets hot it will not start. It's fine when it's cold. In the past 5 weeks
it's burned out 3 starters, and it's probably not far from a 4th. The battery tests
out fine.
AnswerCarl,
If your electrical system is fine and the starters are burning out I would go with a different rebuilder. Other causes are a converter that is too hot and getting the starter too hot. If the cables are bad that too could cause the starter to overheat.
