When should the timing chain(s) be replaced on a '97 Maxima
with a 3.0L "Q" engine?


Answer
If it is making noise or when the the water pump goes out you will be able to tell if it is stretched.  Other than that there is really no change interval.  It is expensive to replace since the cover has to come off and that means that the engine will be coming out to get access.  If the mechanic is going to do a proper job of it.
