Nissan Repair: Tailgate Strut, nissan exterra, strut

I own a 2001 nissan exterra with rear wiper.On looking up the part that you offer, how will I know if the SUV was built before 7/2001 or after.
Question #2 are there two in an order or is that the price for one. Thank you for taking the time out to reveiw this.              Bill

Hi Bill, Open the drivers door. There is an Id tag inside door opening at the body rear of where door shuts. Usually down low. It will have  your V.I.N  number and production date such as 7/04. Rear door supports are sold single but need to be installed in pairs to insure it will hold the weight. Mike
