Nissan Repair: ignition switch, nissan sentra, something else in mind
Questionmy brake light kept staying on so i checked adn the switch on the pedal was loose so i tightend it and tried to start the car the ignition switch will not turn now are the two related and if not how can i fix the igniton switch the care is a 1998 nissan sentra with a 1.6 liter the car is an automatic
AnswerMicheal,
It's possible the two are related. Because if I'm not mistaken you have to engage the brake pedal in order for the key to turn. If you tighten it to tight, it might not be hitting the switch like it should when you press on the brake pedal.
So try loosing the switch again. Loosen it back to where it was, then try to start.
If it doesn't work, you will probably need a new ignition switch or ignition (both the same).
Try that if it doesn't work let me know, I might have something else in mind.
