Z24I Spits and Sputters at high throttle.  Low throttle it runs fine.  Back fires through the exhaust.

I cannot decifer wether it is a Pickup or a Z241 or what?

Hey Darrel - this is a 1988 Nissan Hardbody pickup 2 wheel drive with a
"Z 24 I"  motor with fuel injection.

Since it is a fuel injection it could be a few possible things:

*your timing could be off
*the cadellectic convertor clogged
*your fuel injector clogged

ALL in all I could go on with a few several problems
your best deal is to take it to a shop and put it on a scope.

This will save you time and money.  For the scope can narrow down to the exact problem.
