Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: FORD TAURUS WAGON VS. VW PASSAT WAGON, passat wagon, ford taurus

MY WIFE PUTS ABOUT 40,000 A YEAR ON OUR CAR ALL HIGHWAY.  WE ARE LOOKING TO BUY ANOTHER USED CAR.  WITCH DO YOU THINK WOULD BE A BETTER CAR FOR US A FORD TAURUS WAGON OR A VW PASSAT WAGON IN A MECHANICAL WAY.  WE PLAN ON PUTTING OVER 200,000 MILES ON IT.

Hi John,
I have had two Taurus wagons in my fleet, still have one.
First one needed motor mounts and a fuel pump in 100,000.
Second only has about 65,000 now. Had a transmission replaced, and a front drive hub.

Both ran pretty well.
I have no experience with the VW's.
