Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Ignition lock clyinder/ Tilt Steering 90 Cutlass Supreme, university of detroit mercy, cutlass supreme
QuestionHey Pete back in thanksgiving the ignition on my car would not turn off. To cut it off I had to pull the battery. After that I treid all the typical tricks of the trade to get the key out the ignition and after I called my friend over who was famliar with starting cars withoutkeys banged on the tilt sterring for a while I got the key out. However after moving the car the key remains in the ignition. 1.What is the real problem with the ignition andhow can i fix. Secondly after getting very much pissed I began hypothesizing and removed the sterring wheel, plastic covering of the steering wheel, and the various instruments attached such as the turn signals. However I ran into a wall after which. Their are no obvious attachment points for the metal colum. I noticed a gold pin at the bottom and backof the column. As continued with Chiltons instruction they said after all of this "if you have tilt steering it has to be removed by mechanic with a special tool" So yea dreams where shattered. I am 4th year student at the University of Detroit Mercy who loves cars and is currenetly replacing the front drivers side brake hose on an 86 Park Avenue. So are there any reccomendations or possible answers to my problems other send to a mechanic because cashflow is a drought rightnow Thank You
