 My manual shows Vehicle Speed Sensor approximate location only, but was wondering if it was hard to replace. No instructions given on this.

Hi Joe,
Not hard to replace, but check the wire connections, and wires themselves to see if they are rubbed through before replacing the sensor.
Then, if you decide to replace the sensor, get the replacement, or at least look at a new one to see what you need to remove. Auto Zone, and other parts houses have them, and would show you one.
They can fit kinda tight, so looking at one will give you some idea of where to pry.
But check the wires first.
