Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Olds Aroura 97 over heating, hose clamps, head gasket
QuestionI am looking for coolent air pocket bleeders for the olds V8 motor. Engine over heats going up steep grades. pump was replaced last month. ?
AnswerHi Joe,
Any bleeders will be at the highest point of the cooling system.
Other possible problems you may have are the fan not working properly, The transmission slipping, a head gasket blown or about to blow. Cracked head a remote possibility. A thermostat not opening all the way, and a water pump not circulating, which could be from a plugged radiator
Could also be just trapped air. Loosening hose clamps and cracking the hoses loose can work, but not while the engine is hot.
