QuestionYou were listed under "Plymouth Repair" even though you said you are a Dodge mechanic. I hope Plmouth Grand Voyagers are as much like Dodge Caravans as they LOOK like they are!
I have a 1991 Plmouth Grand Voyager, automatic transmission. Lately, it has a very hard time getting going when the engine is cold. It doesn't have to be very cold - the temps here have been 65 to 70 degrees. Once I've driven out of the subdivision, it is fine.
As I start out, it just won't go. It hesitates VERY badly, then "coughs" or "pops" a little, then takes off. It will do this for a block or so, or, sometimes 3 or 4 blocks.
This vehicle was purchased last summer froma lady that didn't want to pour more money into it, so she bought a newer one and let this sit for 6 to 9 months. We have replaced several different types of sensors and gaskets. It also leaks oil, which is next on the list of repairs.
MY QUESTION: Will carburator cleaner fix anything along this line or do I need to have a mechanic look at it? Would it hurt to TRY a carburator cleaner?
Thanks so much!
