Pontiac Repair: Tuneup - adjust timing

I have a 1991 Pontiac Transsport v6 3.1L Need to adjust the timing. How do I disable the electronic timing advance so I can set the timing to 10 degrees TDC

if you jump the DLC connector terminals a-b with a paper clip that will disable the electronic spark advance and you can then set the base timing. there is also a disconnect wire in the engine harness you can do it that way as well. if the emission sticker is still on the engine cover or the hood it will explain it on there as well.
