Pontiac Repair: Trunk Release Button 1997 Bonneville, release button, trunk release

Question
The trunk release button on the drivers door has stopped working. I was reading the manual and it stated something about possibly it was possibly disengaged.  Any ideas on how to reset

Hi Angee:

there is a valet swictch in the trunk open it with the key and the switch is down where the trunk closes. it a putton with orange on it either when the valet is on or off I can't remeber wich way. what ever way the switch is not flip it the other way. it's in a dumb stop you can actaully bump it loading or unlaodin stuff out of the trunk.
