Pontiac Repair: 2004 GP GTP Engine Replacement, gp gtp, intake manifold gasket

Todd, at 90K miles my 3.8 SC engine has a rod problem and i will probably swap the engine rather than rebuild it. I think antifreeze seeped in from a intake manifold gasket failure.  Question.  with the small block V8 (GXT engine) fit into a 2004 GTP or are there transmission and other differences that would make it incompatible?

It will fint in there BUT the trnamission is different and the engine is differrent then a V8 in a truck the engine is actually shorter then the truck engine. Alos to go along with all the rest the elctronics are completly different along with the power steering and cooling system. So it's no economical by any means if you really want one of these buy one don't change your over. just find a engine in a junk yard that is a GEN III 3800 and you should be good to go!
