Pontiac Repair: 2000 grand prix gtp steering rack help, grand prix gtp, wire loom

Hello i need to replace my steering rack in my 2000 grand prix gtp and was wondering if you could tell me what steering rack i need. When i call the part stores they have two of them and i don't know which one it is. Your help would be great.

basically what they need to know is if you have variable effort steering or not.  Your VIN number should identify which rack you need.  also if you can get under the car, you will see two wires  going to the rack in a wire loom if you have variable effort
