Pontiac Repair: 2000 montana repair, tranmission, steering wheel

Our Montana is making a loud wining noise when it is running and moving forward.  Is this something serious?

Hey Brian:

It only makes the noise when the van is moving not in park? If so it's more then likley something in the transmission and yes it can be serious and it will not go a way it will get worse! if it does it all the time it can still be in the tranmission but it could also be something like a power steering noise does turning the steering wheel make it worse?
