When I reach 70 mph the trac-off light comes on in the dash.  Then the car surges.

Hi Chris:

You may have a wheel speed senor that is cutting out on this car. I'm not quite sure at what spped the traction control stops working some only have low speed traction control I uaually don't drive at 70 MPH to see what happnes. But you may have one or more sensors that are cutting out at higher sppeds. You mya want to stop at one of the "big Box" auto parts stores and have then scan for codes they do not charge for that. And see what if any codes are stored in the abs module.
