Pontiac Repair: 2005 pontiac grand am....., pontiac grand am, slow speeds

My 05 pontiac grand am dies only when I turn the steering wheel.  It will drive straight but that's all.  I took it to a mechanic and he couldn't figure it out.  Any suggestions will help. Thanks!

Hi Mel:

When you say it dies out do you mean driving down the road or say at slow speeds like in a parking lot turning the wheel? It make a difference in which direction to look at. What happnes when it dies out is it like someone turns the key off or does it spit and sputter then die?
